Fernie Castle Hotel offers a unique experience, with parts of the building dating back to the 1500s. The location is convenient, right on a main road, yet the long drive ensures a peaceful atmosphere away from traffic. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with large bathrooms equipped with both a shower cubicle and a freestanding bath. The service is excellent, with attentive staff who make you feel welcome. The breakfast selection is varied and delicious, with options like porridge and a full Scottish breakfast. Guests can also enjoy the beautiful grounds surrounding the castle.
The check-in policy, with a fixed time of 3pm, may not be convenient for all guests.

Airport was 27 minutes drive away. Location within 4 km of Mount Hill. We loved our time here, it was perfect for what we needed.

We stayed at a historic castle hotel over Christmas, and the atmosphere was magical. The decorations were beautiful, and the fireplaces gave a cozy touch to the common areas. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the location was great for exploring nearby attractions. What we liked the most was the sleigh ride offered in the snowy surroundings, it was a unique and enjoyable experience.
Our room was a huge disappointment. It was old and poorly maintained, with outdated furnishings, a musty smell, and stained carpets.

This hotel offers great value for money, with prices that won't break the bank. The attention to detail in this 1500's castle is truly impressive, from the thick walls that transport you back in time to the beautiful traditional building itself. The staff are friendly and efficient, ensuring that every guest feels welcome and taken care of. The rooms are basic but comfortable, and many offer lovely views of the surrounding countryside. Breakfast is a highlight, with a fresh and delicious spread that will fuel you for the day ahead.
All was satisfactory.

Beautiful setting and gardens. Nice historic building. Delicious breakfast, with a good variety of options.
Our room was dusty and outdated, with a few broken amenities. The bathroom was not very modern or clean.
